weather conditions

Frequently Asked Questions

We will always do our best to move forward with the event as planned, rain or shine. However, if weather conditions force us to cancel the event prior to its start, we will communicate promptly and clearly through the following channels:

  • Email to all registered participants

  • Text message alerts (if a number was provided at registration)

  • Social media announcements on our official pages

Please be sure to check these platforms on the day of the event for the latest updates. Safety is our priority, and we appreciate your understanding and flexibility.

For the safety of all participants, staff, and spectators, we follow a strict lightning protocol similar to school and youth sports guidelines:

  • If lightning is detected within a 10-mile radius of the course, play will be suspended immediately.

  • A 30-minute delay will go into effect from the last detected strike within that radius.

  • The delay timer will reset with each new strike within the 10-mile range.

  • During the delay, all players and attendees should seek appropriate shelter away from open areas, metal equipment, or tall structures.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep everyone safe. Updates during delays will be communicated via onsite announcements and our official communication channels.

We understand that the  weather can be unpredictable, and we want to be as fair and transparent as possible:

  • If the event is canceled after it has already started due to weather, no refunds will be issued. At that point, event costs have already been incurred and services rendered.

We encourage guests to monitor weather forecasts and come prepared. Our team will always prioritize safety while doing our best to deliver the full event experience.

In the event the tournament is canceled after starting but before completion due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, final standings will be determined based on the last fully completed round or hole by all players. This ensures fairness by evaluating all participants on an equal number of holes.

If the tournament is canceled before all players complete 9 holes (for 7U, 10U, and Junior High divisions) or 18 holes (for High School divisions), the round will be considered incomplete and scores will not be included in scoring averages for the series. However points will still be earned for the medalist

This policy ensures that only full, fair rounds are used to calculate season-long statistics and rankings.
