Season Points System
Thunderbird Junior Golf uses a core performance-based points system designed to reward winning, consistency, and competitive finishes while remaining simple and transparent for players and families.

Points are awarded to the top five finishers in each division based on final position:

2nd Place 70 Points
3rd Place 50 Points
4th Place 30 Points
5th Place 10 Points

- Only the top five finishers receive points

Designated Major Events carry increased weight to recognize higher stakes and stronger competition.

- Major events will be clearly identified on the schedule
- The 2× multiplier applies only to designated Major tournaments

The Thunderbird Junior Golf Tour Championship is a premier season-ending event and is weighted accordingly.

2nd Place 140 Points
3rd Place 100 Points
4th Place 60 Points
5th Place 20 Points
Tour Champ = 2×Points Multiplier
- The Tour Championship uses the same 2× multiplier as Major events
- Points earned count toward final season standings
Tie-Breaker Policy – Event
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place always receive their full placement points because those positions were confirmed at the event.
For 4th and 5th place, no tiebreakers are used. Tied competitors receive the same placement points.
- If multiple competitors tie for 4th, each receives 4th-place points, and no 5th-place points are awarded.
- If multiple competitors tie for 5th, each receives 5th-place points.
Season Standings
- The season-long points race to determine the Player of the Year begins with the first event in March and concludes at the Tour Championship in October
- Points accumulate throughout the season
- Rankings are determined by total points earned
- Thunderbird Junior Golf reserves the right to designate Major events each season
- Caddie/Kid events do not award points toward Player of the Year race.
Tie-Breaker Policy – Player of the Year
- In the event of a tie in total season points for Player of the Year, no playoff or tie-breaker will be conducted
- All tied players will be recognized equally and named Player of the Year
- A secondary plaque will be ordered and provided to the other player
